At the YMCA where I work out the outdoor pool has a play area for kids to play. It has all the stuff that attracts and entertains the kids so the parents can relax by the pool. The YMCA near where I live just added one of these outdoor play areas and an outdoor pool. You see families there relaxing and the kids having fun. I know of several of our church members who hang out there to enjoy some time out of the house and family fun for no money (admission is part of the monthly fees).
I was thinking today that this is an awesome opportunity to use this as an outreach to families. Since you’re there anyway, talk with the other people around you. You use what God gives you to bond with others; the children. I hang out at a local bar and grill and coffeehouse and talk with people, but if there was a YMCA near where we are reaching out to the community and if I had a child I would use it to talk with people.
Everywhere we go can be an opportunity to witness and reach out to our community. Think about where you hang out and pray for opportunities to witness.
